Performance and Optimization of a Dual-Stage Vibration Isolation System Using Bio-Inspired Vibration Isolators

This paper thoroughly investigates the performance and multi-parameter optimization of a dual-stage vibration isolation system with bio-inspired isolators (BI-DSVI) under different base excitations. The dynamic equations BI-DSVI are derived. Then, problem is defined, where three types excitation (translation rotations around two horizontal axes) studied. results show that transmissibility can be greatly reduced (more than 30 dB) by optimization, an optimal configuration structural parameters exists for isolators. effective bandwidth significantly widened. Finally, discusses influence on performance. parameter studies provide useful guidelines application isolator in isolation.
